Associate Pastor/Missions & Evangelism
Calvary welcomes people from any nationality to our Sunday morning services and other ministries throughout the week. We have four English worship services at our Central and West campuses, and two Spanish services at our Southside and West campuses. Times and locations for these services are located on the top of this page.
At our Central Campus, we have 4 different international gatherings: Karenni, Vietnamese, Nepali and Chinese.
The Karenni congregation meets at 8:30a in Lower Day School Cafeteria.
The Vietnamese congregation has a Bible study at 10:00a and a worship service at 11:00a in Room A-1104.
The Nepali congregation meets at 8:30a in Room A-1204.
The Chinese Bible study meets at 10:30a in Room B-2106.
English as a Second Language (ESL) is offered Wednesday evenings at Calvary Central from 6:00p–7:30p (September-May). An informal assessment will help determine which level a student should take. All levels are welcome, as classes are offered from “No English,” to conversational and proficient levels. For information, contact Melanie Brooks.
People who have lived in the United States for 5 years, and obtained their Green Card are eligible for Citizenship to the United States of America. This class teaches the history of the United States, reviews what will be on the Citizenship Test, and assists students in filling out the N-400 Application for Naturalization. The ability to speak English is a major component of the Naturalization Process, so students must be at a Level 2 of ESL to take the course. The schedule follows the ESL schedule. For information, contact Melanie Brooks.
What will you find when you visit with us? You will find lots of signs of life! Our Family is made up of a full range of ages from newborns to senior adults. We are Deaf, Oral, Hard of Hearing, Hearing, Interpreters, White, Black, Hispanic, Asian. All of our programs are done in sign and voiced for hearing attendees. We have events that will allow us to fellowship and eat together and have many opportunities to learn more about Jesus.
English is not a problem for us, because most of our Bible study materials are especially designed and written for our ministry. We are a caring group of people who want to love, worship and follow Jesus Christ. We provide car transportation to our deaf worship services. We teach several sign languages classes (with deaf and hearing teachers!). We desire to reach out to your entire family. Contact Samuel Wood.
Weekly Bible studies, along with children’s programs during the school year. These meet in A-1102 from 6:00-7:30p. Each class lasts 1½ hours and childcare is provided.
