Preschool Ministry

BIBLE FELLOWSHIP

Our ministry's objective is to teach preschoolers about God each time they are at church. We feel the preschool years are best used for laying foundations for the child to accept Christ as they grow. These Christian objectives and concepts are taught through the use of LifeWay Christian resource literature using the following activity areas: art, blocks, books, pictures, home living, music, nature and puzzles. The Bible is the central part of teaching and is used throughout these areas. Preschoolers learn by doing and experiencing through these age appropriate activities.

Sunday morning Preschool Bible Fellowship meets at 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00am with regular assigned teachers in each department. Birth through four-year-olds can participate in two sessions. When coming at 9:30 or 11:00am you may register at our information desks located in the B building and between the D and E building. When coming at 8:15am register at the desk located between the D and E buildings.

Kindergarten age preschoolers attend the worship service with their parents.

MISSION FRIENDS 

Mission Friends provide developmentally appropriate missions learning experiences to help preschoolers move from a self-centered focus to a focus on others, to become aware that not everyone knows about God's love, and to understand ways they can help others know about this good news! We meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 8:00pm on the first floor of the B building. Regular teachers guide this experience each week as the preschoolers explore different countries missionaries serve.

PARENT CHILD DEDICATION

Calvary Baptist Church places a high value on Christian parenting and as parents of a new baby; you are invited to participate in the Parent/Child Dedication Services. Children ages 24 months and under may be dedicated. Dedication services are planned for November 25, 2012. The Dedication will be part of all Sunday morning services in the Worship Centers at either Central or West Campuses or in Elevate.

Registration is required and a mandatory parent meeting is scheduled before each dedication.  Registration deadline: November 12, 2012 at noon.

NEW/EXPECTANT PARENT DINNER

The Preschool Ministry invites all New and Expectant parents to a FREE dinner on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the Chambers Room on Central Campus.

This dinner is also open for anyone that is new to Calvary and interested in learning more about Preschool Ministries.

You will receive a brief introduction to the Preschool Ministry staff and programs as well as an opportunity to connect with other new and expectant parents from Central and West Campus.

Registration is required by October 11, 2012.

WOW FOR KIDS

WOW for kids classes are offered for preschoolers and home-schoolers (grades K-6) during WOW (Women of the Word) classes. Quality, fun, Bible-centered, classes include Bible teaching, crafts, playtime, and fun! The teachers are trained preschool teachers who are excited to minister and care for your children while you attend your WOW class. The cost of the class is $4 per child per week. Registration may be required. 

CHILD SAFETY

Calvary adopted a comprehensive child safety and abuse prevention policy in 1997 which includes:

• Administrative supervision of all services/programs.
• Good teacher/child ratio to insure good supervision.
• Visual access to all our rooms.
• In-service training programs on child abuse for our teachers and parents.
• Security system "claim card" in our preschool area.
• Name Tags to identify workers.
