Counseling
Our counselors are licensed in North Carolina, having completed a master’s degree in counseling or marriage and family therapy. As a way of advocating for the field of Christian counseling, we have an intern on staff who receives close supervision as he/she completes the requirements for licensure. Clients are assessed in the first appointment after completing an intake information sheet. Counseling sessions last for fifty (50) minutes and are limited to eight to ten sessions per client.Appointments are scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Although there is no fee for this service, our ministry welcomes and greatly appreciates donations. At this time, we are only able to meet with our church members. Barnabas Ministry ///Are you in need of a caring Christian who will listen, empathize, encourage, pray, provide confidential care, and patiently support you as you work through a crisis or difficult time? Do you know someone, perhaps a friend, neighbor, coworker, colleague, or relative, who could benefit from this type of care? Everyone goes through difficult times. Having someone to care, to listen, to share God’s love with you can help you get through the confusion, stress, or loneliness you may be experiencing. God does not intend for you to struggle alone. Our Barnabas Volunteers are ready to provide you with the confidential, one-to-one Christian care you need to make it through a crisis or help you through a difficult time. The purpose is to help group members find comfort in a coalition with others who have a similar struggle or concern. The hope is that group membership will bring a renewed sense of meaning to each person as he/she connects with other group members. Through shared experiences each group can provide spiritual growth and accountability in a unique way for the members. COMMUNITY SUPPORT GROUPS ///These groups are non-sectarian in nature and do not ascribe to a certain religious affiliation. Their purpose is to provide a safe environment for people to meet with others who have similar struggles and who strive for balance and a healthier approach to life. Those who attend the group faithfully can gain hope for improvement of their situations as they bond with others and learn better coping skills. By allowing these groups to meet on our campus we are both providing a community service as well as another opportunity for people to become familiar with Calvary. A group of AL-Anon meet here weekly throughout the year: Wednesdays at 10:30 am in B-1309; Thursdays at 10:30 am in B-1309.
