Women of the Word ///

West Campus Kick-off: September 2 at 7:00 pm in the lobby
Classes meet Thursdays at 9:30 am (With an exception of "Knowing God by Name" class)

Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed ///

Room 3103. Leader: Kristen Turner. In this six week study, three women, representing three generations committed to God and His Word, each look at the life of King David from a different perspective. Priscilla Shirer teaches on David’s anointing and ours, Beth Moore teaches on transformation, and Kay Arthur ties it all together teaching on redemption as the mark of God’s children. You will laugh with them, cry with them, and learn to love God with them. Join Priscilla, Beth, and Kay for two weeks of daily Bible Study by each author.
(There is also a follow-up study “Faithful, Abundant, and True” that will be considered for the 2nd part of the semester.)

Knowing God by Name ///

Room 3103. This study will meet at 7:00 pm with no childcare available.
Leader: Melinda Little. In this study by Mary Kassian, we will cover 35 Hebrew names of God that describe His character, His relationships, and His purpose. This study will last 8 weeks and have brief daily homework assignments. There is no video for this course, so there will be ample time for group discussion.

Lies Women Believe and the Truth That Sets Them Free ///

Room 3204. Leaders: Carmen Menser / KK Gilbert. Romans 1:25 – We exchanged the truth of God for the lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator who is blessed forever. “Lies Women Believe and the Truth That Sets Them Free” is a powerful study written by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. In this study she addresses areas of deception that many Christian women have commonly learned to believe. Some of these lies include:
Lies about themselves – “I can’t help the way I am”
Lies about sin – “I cannot walk in consistent victory over an area of sin”
Lies about their circumstances - “If my circumstances were different, I would be happier.”
Through this study we will use the Word of God to help show us the truth and learn how we can break areas of bondage in order to walk in God’s love, grace, and forgiveness. The best way to counter Satan’s native tongue – lying – is to learn and believe God’s Word – the Truth. This study will include reading one chapter per week and completing five days of homework ranging from 20-30 minutes each day as well as weekly group discussion time.

Living Beyond Yourself: Discovering the Fruit of the Spirit ///

Room 3305. Leader: Debbie McCaffrey. A personal and in-depth women’s bible study of the fruit of the Holy Spirit as presented in Galatians 5:22-23. (peace, joy, gentleness and other positive characteristics.) Beth walks participants through each trait listed in the fruit and encourages women to know the freedom of a Spirit-filled life. Through this study you will be challenged to develop the fruit by maintaining an intimate relationship with the Spirit of God. A Spirit-filled life truly results in living beyond yourself.

Lord, Where are You When Bad Things Happen? ///

Room 3206. Leader: Julie Toburen. Does God seem far away when bad things happen? This study from Habakkuk provides answers to sustain you. Learn to walk by faith in God's sovereignty, regardless of circumstances. Be ready to help others around you understand God's ways and put their trust in Him. Study will include daily devotional study and weekly DVD lectures in additional to group discussion time.
