Tithing Challenge

February is Tithing Challenge month. During the four Sundays of this month we have asked every member to tithe (10%) of income to the Lord through the church. This challenge is a reminder of the promise that God made to Israel when he declared:

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. (Malachi 3:10 ESV)

The purpose of the challenge to practice the principle of the tithe is twofold. One is to see what God will do in your own life as you honor him as the owner, and give the first portion of your income to him. Another is to see what God will provide for the entire church as a type of storehouse for His blessing. Let's pray together that faith, obedience, ministry and missions will be strengthened.
